EXPIRATION OF COURSE COMPLETION CARDS
The OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour course completion card will be given to employees who have successfully finished the program and met all of the requirements.
The following are some of the industries in which its validity varies:
Construction Sector
- Does not expire
- Required to undergo supplemental training tailored to the unique dangers of their business.
General Manufacturing
- Does not expire
- Required to undergo supplemental training tailored to the unique dangers of their business.
Disaster Site
- Does not expire
- Required to undergo supplemental training tailored to the unique dangers of their business.
Maritime Economy and Industry
- Valid for a period of 5 years (additional training required to retain validity)
- Required to undergo supplemental training tailored to the unique dangers of their business.
Even though the completion card does not have an expiration date, it is highly advised that you participate in OSHA outreach safety training every four to five years in order to remain current with the most recent safety requirements and best practices for the industry.
It is advised that employees communicate with the local regulatory authorities in order to get comprehensive training recommendations.
REPLACEMENT OF COURSE COMPLETION CARDS
Have you misplaced or been unable to use either your 10-hour or 30-hour card? To acquire a new card, please get in touch with the OSHA-authorized outreach training provider in your area.
However, it is crucial to remember that the replacement card may only be granted to students who have participated in the outreach program during the last five years.
This restriction applies to the issuance of the replacement card. Each student is limited to receiving a single replacement card at a time.
Make sure that you seek a replacement card well in advance of the fifth anniversary of the day that you finished your course. What would have happened if you had completed the training more than 5 years ago?
There will be no replacement cards issued by OSHA-DOL. You will need to retake the OSHA outreach training program that corresponds to the completion of the course in order to get a fresh and valid course completion card.
The OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Training Course is highly recommended for anybody who aspires to work in the construction industry as a site supervisor or manager.
If you are serious about moving up in the ranks, you need to give this some thought. Construction employees who are just starting out will be required to complete a 10-hour OSHA training course.
HOW LONG IS OSHA 30 GOOD FOR?
In the fine language on the back of the OSHA 30 card, which is given to students who successfully complete the training and pass the exam, it is explained that the OSHA 30-hour certification is valid indefinitely. Because, as stated by OSHA, participation in the training is entirely discretionary.
Please bear in mind, however, that in certain states and municipalities that have their own standards for what constitutes enough training, renewal may be a requirement.
Because there is no such thing as a refresher course, students who find themselves in this situation will be required to redo the OSHA 30-hour course.
It is a widespread misunderstanding that employees may get certification via the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
They don’t do that. If being “OSHA certified” is not an option, then what should employees in the construction and general industries do in order to demonstrate that they have received training in workplace safety if they are required to do so.
